DJ Mecky Tz – Amapiano Mix Vol 1 Ft. DJ Alfa Tz

Amapiano's global reign is not just happening in London and New York—it is burning across the African continent. In Dar es Salaam and Arusha, Tanzanian DJs have embraced the South African sound, infusing it with local Bongo Flava energy and East African dancefloor culture.

The latest showcase of this cross-border sonic alliance comes via 'DJ Mecky Tz – Amapiano Mix Vol 1', featuring fellow selector DJ Alfa Tz. Clocking in at over seventy minutes, the mixtape weaves together deep, jazzy 'private school' piano with ferocious Bacardi log drums from Soshanguve and Mamelodi.

Featuring underground cuts from Kelvin Momo, Mthunzi, Kabza De Small, and rising Tanzanian producers experimenting with 112 BPM tempos, the mix demonstrates how fluidly Mzansi's native electronic rhythms translate into different cultural landscapes.

With over a hundred thousand views in its first 48 hours, the mix is a testament to the fact that African youth culture is unifying around the unstoppable pulse of the South African log drum.
